Admit it we were all a little bummed out that the old lady didn’t actually all that badass fighting in this scene

I WAS DEVASTATED

Agreed

 (stuffimgogingtohellfor)

I choose to believe that before the Alzheimer’s really set in Peggy and a bunch of the other retired ladies of SHIELD used to tell their families they were going out for bingo nights and then drive into the roughest parts of the city to bring some sweet vigilante justice. Nobody ever heard about it because none of the criminals were ever willing to admit they got their asses kicked by a bunch of grandmas, but there was a sudden drop in crimes against the elderly in DC.

I was so disappointed in the theater, I wanted her to be an awesome senior SHIELD exec taking charge of the moment.

The only show based off a movie that wasn’t just good but absolutely fantastic

The movie was based off of the show tho

Nope! The movie was first (2001) and the tv show came after (2002).

Something else nifty.

All episode it was pretty clear on Emma’s intentions of getting the hell out of dodge. She was great, very clear on her and Regina’s positions in Henry’s life and respectful. She called Regina his Mom and never called herself it and always strove to bring Henry back and not give him false hope or badmouth Regina.

The only reason she ended up staying, for the most part, was the bit at the very end of the episode, after Regina snaps at her, when she asks Regina if she loves Henry… and Emma doesn’t believe Regina’s yes.

Now, whether you believe Emma’s superpower is magical in origin or just something to do with body language and instincts, it is clear that she has faith in it and, canonically, it is supposed to be accurate.

But, with are much more complete knowledge, we also know that Regina does love Henry…with everything she has.

Some might say that Emma’s feeling might have been clouding the results, that she wanted an excuse to stick around. Me, I think that, on every level, she wanted Henry to have the perfect life to prove that she did the right thing and so that he’s happy.

[This is the same part of me that thinks she got worse, after jail, instead of immediately sticking to the straight and narrow. Because, in her mind, if she did well and went straight and it all worked out - could she have kept him? Buuut personal head canons aside…]

I also think this whole experience is pressing her to cut and run fairly hard.

Her superpower, though, doesn’t tell the truth… it tells what the person thinks is the truth. And I wonder sometimes if Regina thought she actually loved Henry. We know she did. We know she wanted him. But, with all of her insecurities and her heavy past and her darkened heart, did she believe she was capable of real love? Did her answer ring false (or shifty enough to trouble Emma, at least) because of her own worries and lack of faith?

It is an interesting thought. ?

Meet Graham - The Worst Sheriff Ever

—-

A child is missing and you are the only police officer in the entire town… better console the mother instead of actually looking for the kid…

Women gets into a car accident that is cause by jerking movement - assume she was driving drunk (had half a whiskey (or whatever)) and lock her up. It’s okay, you don’t need to breathalyze her or anything, and definitely don’t worry about bringing her to the hospital since the crash knocked her out. Just through her in the cell and tell her the alcohol caused her to hallucinate a wolf.

Hmmm, kid went missing again - use the computer to find him. What a novel idea. But really, better to pound the pavement and knock on doors than figure out motive and means.

And then he just disappears…

I feel like Maleficent’s curse was such a random and specific circumstance that she just sort of improvised it on the spot in an attempt to be cool. like

'OH YEAH WELL I HEREBY PUT A CURSE ON YOUR DAUGHTER THAT WHEN SHE TURNS SIXTEEN SHE'S GONNA (ah shit) SHE'S GONNA (uh) PRICK HER FINGER ON A SPINDLE (what the hell was that) AND DIEEEEE

that’s literally canon in the maleficent movie I am not even joking
